The creative brilliance of Team MDC once again took center stage as they brought home two major awards during the PelikulAgraryo 2025 Short Film Festival held on June 24, 2025, at the Golden Prince Hotel in Cebu City.
Their heartfelt short film entry, “JOY,” captivated the judges and audience alike—earning the BEST FILM Award under the Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries (ARB) Category. Adding to the triumph, Luke Benedict Niño Bangay delivered an outstanding performance as Roy, which earned him the BEST ACTOR Title for his remarkable portrayal filled with depth, emotion, and authenticity.
PelikulAgraryo 2025, organized by the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR), serves as a platform to celebrate the inspiring narratives of DAR beneficiaries under the SPLIT Project. The festival aims to showcase the transformative power of storytelling in amplifying the voices of farmers and rural communities whose lives have been touched by agrarian reform.
This victory stands as a testament to Metro Dumaguete College’s growing legacy of excellence in creativity, social awareness, and youth empowerment. The entire MDC community celebrates this milestone with pride and gratitude. Congratulations, Team MDC!
